Mylene Supan-Rivas, MSN, APRN, CRNA
Mylene Supan graduated from the University of the Philippines Manila College of Nursing. She worked at the Philippine General Hospital before moving to the US in 1994. She obtained her Masters In Nurse Anesthesia in 2011 from the University of Texas in Houston and currently works at Houston Methodist Hospital Debakey Heart Institute and at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center.
Mylene is a co-founder Houston Alliance of Volunteers in Medicine (HAVMED), a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization the sole mission of organizing medical-surgical mission trips to the Philippines. She has led many medical missions and spearheaded many efforts in sending relief back to the Philippines especially during natural disasters.
With deep community involvement especially in Houston, Mylene has served in many leadership positions of multiple Filipino-American nonprofit organizations, including being a two-term president of the Filipino Young Professionals of Houston (FYP Houston). She currently serves as a board member for the University of the Philippines Alumni Association in Texas, Philippine Kalayaan Houston, and Gawad Kalinga USA.
In 2021, Mylene was recognized by the Houston Rockets and the University of the Philippines Nursing Alumni Association International (UPNAAI) for her contributions to the community and her humanitarian service to those in need. In the same year, The Knights of Rizal conferred her the Dr Jose Rizal Excellence Award for Community Service. The following year, the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce Texas Greater Houston Region recognized her as one of the Outstanding Philippine American Professionals in Greater Houston Region.
