Joshua Ugat, BSN, RN, SRNA
Joshua Ugat is a third-year SRNA currently attending Baylor College of Medicine’s DNP Nurse Anesthesia Program with a strong background in critical care, leadership, and community advocacy. As a proud Filipino, Joshua is committed to advancing diversity, equity, and representation within nurse anesthesia and the broader healthcare community.
Before CRNA school, Joshua previously worked in the Neurosurgical ICU at a Level 1 Trauma Center, where he cared for critically ill patients and spearheaded initiatives such as revising hospital policy on external ventricular drain management. His leadership extended into mentoring ICU nurses and advancing stroke care improvement efforts.
In 2025, Joshua attended the Principles of Pediatric Anesthesia and Critical Care course at Harvard Medical School, gaining valuable insight into complex pediatric topics, including difficult airway management, blood management, and pacemaker configuration. With his commitment to mentorship, health equity, and culturally competent care, Joshua aspires to be a transformative leader in the future of nurse anesthesia.
As a senior SRNA, Joshua is excited to be completing his final year of nurse anesthesia training in Texas. He is actively working toward completion of his DNP project, beginning his specialty rotations, and making meaningful strides in advancing the Filipino American Nurse Anesthesiologists Society goals as a Student Representative.
